Mum's Stewed Sausages

    This is one my favorite recipes that my Mum used to makes all the time. Sausages and lots of veg with a beautiful broth done in the slow cooker. Yummy!

    Serves: 4 

    • 6 sausages cut into bite size pieces
    • 1 carrot, sliced
    • 2 cups of broccoli florets
    • 3 potatoes, diced
    • 1 cup of shredded cabbage
    • 1 clove of garlic, crushed
    • 1 packet of French onion soup
    • 1 tablespoon gravy powder
    • 1 teaspoon powdered beef stock
    • soy sauce to taste
    • Worcestershire sauce to taste
    • 1 litre boiling water
    • crusty bread to serve

    1. Chop sausages into pieces (It is best done when frozen), as well as carrot, broccoli, potatoes and cabbage and put into slow cooker.
    2. In a jug put garlic, French onion soup mix, gravy powder, beef stock powder, a splash of soy sauce and Worcestershire to taste, with sufficient water to mix it to a smooth paste.
    3. Add paste to 1 litre of boiling water, stir and add to slow cooker. If needed add enough water to cover vegies and sausages.
    4. Cook on high for 5 hours or 11 hours on low. Serve with crusty bread.
