    A nice soft biscuit that my children love and enjoying helping to make.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4 

    • 100g margarine or butter
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 1/2 cup plain flour
    • 1/2 cup wholemeal flour
    • 1/2 cup rolled oats
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/4 cup chocolate chips

    Directions
    Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. Cream the butter and sugar together.
    3. Mix in the flours and rolled oats.
    4. Mix in the chocolate chips.
    5. Roll the mixture into balls and place on a greased or lined baking tray.
    6. Gently squash the balls (my children love to help do this bit).
    7. Bake for about 10 minutes.
    8. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to a rack.

    Tip

    You could replace the chocolate chips with sultanas and add in a spice for something a bit different.
