Easy Chicken Balti

    Balti is a Pakistani curry which is less spicy and more aromatic than other curries. This is an easy version that uses premade balti paste. Serve with rice.

    Serves: 2 

    • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 1 large onion, chopped
    • 500g chicken thigh meat, trimmed of fat
    • 1/3 cup balti sauce
    • 200ml water
    • 2 tomatoes, chopped
    • 185g broccoli, broken into florets
    • 1/2 cup peas

    1. Heat the oil in a medium pan, add the onion and cook until softened.
    2. Put in the chicken meat and brown all over.
    3. Add the balti sauce and mix well to combine. Add the water (it should cover the chicken) and the tomatoes. Simmer for 25 minutes.
    4. Add the broccoli and peas and cook for 5 minutes or until broccoli is just done.
