Quick and easy tea in a pinch, just heat up a few meat pies from the freezer then serve with mashed potatoes and a side of peas. Classic!

Serves: 4 

  • 4 frozen meat pies
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • salt and white pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon butter, extra

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:40min 

  1. Heat the meat pies in your oven according to packet directions.
  2. Meanwhile, boil potatoes in a saucepan of water until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain potatoes then mash with a potato masher, butter and milk. Season to taste with salt and white pepper.
  3. Boil the peas in a saucepan of hot water until tender and hot, about 8 minutes. Drain then stir in the remaining butter. Season to taste.
  4. Serve all together.


Serve with chips instead of mash. You can smoother it in brown gravy or tomato sauce.
