Lemon Pepper Bread

    This is a dish that my wife's mother has taught my wife... it is a good pre dinner or party dish that has a lot of flavour and is really easy with the use of a few ingredients... Will keep in airtight container for 2 days. Having said that it doesn't last that long in my house.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 packet of pitta bread
    • butter, softened for spreading
    • lemon pepper seasoning
    • 500g grated cheese

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Extra time:20min cooling  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Pre heat oven to 220 degrees C.
    2. Cut pitta bread in half around the edge, as if you were making pizza, being careful not to tear the bread.
    3. Spread each half with butter, then sprinkle lemon pepper seasoning over the top to taste, cover with grated cheese (like you would with pizza).
    4. Place straight on to the racks in oven until cheese is melted and the pitta bread is crisp. This may need to be done in stages depending on the size of your oven. Place on cooling rack until cold.
    5. Once cold tear into bite size pieces and place in a bowl or airtight container.
