Simple, no measuring slightly sweet recipe. Addional seasonings based upon your main dish.

Serves: 4 

  • shedded cabbage, 1/4 c per person
  • white sugar
  • white vinegar
  • mayonnaise
  • Seasonings to match your main dish

Preparation:5min  ›  Ready in:5min 

  1. In a medium size bowl, pour sugar in a mound, estimating a tablespoon for 4 people.
  2. Slowly pour vinegar around the outside until the center liquifies.
  3. Add a heaping tablespoon of mayo for each person then stir. Taste the mix and add any of the 3 ingredients again to adjust consistency or taste.
  4. Add a teaspoon of seasonings such as dill for a light, bitter taste, or poppy seeds for a sweet taste.
  5. Mix with cabbage and chill covered for 10 minutes or serve.


For pulled pork and sloppy joes I use poppy seeds, fish, grilled chicken & hamburgers i use dill.
