Lay out the crackers and spread each with a layer of cream cheese. Top each with a tomato that has been cut in half then again in in quarters. Spread it out at the back end but still touching at the front, to look like ladybird wings.
Set the olive on, tilted back like a head. Set two chive halves in the olive hole, like feelers.
In a small bowl combine about a tablespoon of the cream cheese with the black food colouring until the desired colour is reached. Spoon into a resealable bag and close. Cut a tiny bit off the tip of one corner of the bag then dot on the black cream cheese to resemble ladybird spots.
Crackers will go soggy, so make these right before serving. If you must make in advance then you must use cucumber slices instead of crackers.
Vegan GF Option
Easily make these vegan buy using hummus in place of the cream cheese and cucumber in place of the crackers. They then become gluten free also.
