Fresh sliced pears oven baked in a sweet creamy batter for 40 minutes makes a delicious and warm dessert for those chilly autumn evenings, when pears are in season.
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
8 medium pears, peeled, cored and sliced
- Preheat oven to 220 degrees C. Butter sides and bottom of a 2 litre casserole.
- In a large bowl mix together flour and 1/2 cup sugar. Stir in eggs. Gradually add milk and cream, stirring until smooth. Fold in pears.
- Pour into prepared casserole, sprinkle top with remaining sugar, dot with remaining butter then bake in preheated oven for 40-50 minutes.
