Mashed kina tongues simmered with cream and chunks of potato makes a tasty kina soup. Enjoy it with a side of rewena bread.
1 potato, diced
10 large kina tongues
1 cup cream
80g dried pea and ham soup sachet
salt and pepper, to taste
- Boil potatoes in salted water until soft. Mash the kina and set aside.
- Combine milk, cream and soup sachet in a large saucepan and whisk together well. Season with salt and pepper then add the mashed kina and boiled potato.
- Simmer until hot then serve.
