Mashed kina tongues simmered with cream and chunks of potato makes a tasty kina soup. Enjoy it with a side of rewena bread.

Serves: 6 

  • 1 potato, diced
  • 10 large kina tongues
  • 600ml milk
  • 1 cup cream
  • 80g dried pea and ham soup sachet
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:35min 

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until soft. Mash the kina and set aside.
  2. Combine milk, cream and soup sachet in a large saucepan and whisk together well. Season with salt and pepper then add the mashed kina and boiled potato.
  3. Simmer until hot then serve.
