A quick and easy quiche Lorraine with bacon and Swiss cheese. A custard, made of egg and milk, is poured over bacon then cooked until golden brown.

Serves: 4 

  • 1 sheet prepared shortcrust pastry
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 strips bacon
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C. Line a pie dish with pastry, then bake for 10-15 minutes.
  2. In a bowl whisk together egg, milk, salt and pepper. Remove pie dish from oven then turn oven to 200 degrees C. Lay in the bacon and swiss cheese. Pour in only 1/2 of the egg mixture then bake for 10 minutes.
  3. Pour in remainder of the egg mixture then bake an additional 15 minutes.
