Round steak died and mixed with carrots, onion, celery and an apple is allowed to slow simmer for 2 hours in tomato soup, lemon juice and curry powder. Enjoy with rice.

Serves: 6 

  • 1kg round steak, cut into 2cm pieces
  • 4 sticks celery, diced
  • 2 large carrots, peeled and diced
  • 1 large onion, peeled and diced
  • 1 cooking apple, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 dessertspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 (300g) tin tomato soup
  • 1 cup water

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:2hours  ›  Ready in:2hours15min 

  1. In large saucepan add the meat, celery, onion, carrot and apple.
  2. Blend four, curry powder, salt, golden syrup and lemon juice in a bowl, then add to the saucepan. Stir in the tomato soup and water.
  3. Allow to simmer gently for 2 hours. Serve over rice.
