Apple Peanut Butter Dog Biscuits

My vet says wheat is not healthy for dogs. Finding dog treats that don't have wheat or unnatural ingredients was not very easy, so I have been making my own. This is the first recipe that I have come up with that is 100% wheat free, and it is quick and easy.

Makes: 30 treats
- 1 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 small apple, cored and sliced
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter

- In your food processor, process 1 cup rolled oats to a fine powder. Remove to a bowl. Add sliced apple to the food processor and process until barely chunky. Put in peanut butter mix until combined. Add the powdered rolled oats and process until combined.
- Turn out onto a sheet of greaseproof paper and sprinkle the remaining oats on both sides. Cover with another sheet of greaseproof paper then roll out to the thickness you want your dog biscuits. Cut into shapes then place on a baking sheet lined with one of the baking paper sheets.
- Bake at 130 degrees C for 40 minutes, checking often and turning once, halfway through. Make sure they are fully dried out and crisp, if not, adjust baking time accordingly.
Tip
I just store these in a jar, and if they are properly dried out, they keep very nicely.
