A sweet date pudding and apple pudding that is baked to perfection in a pie dish. This yummy pudding tastes even better when served with a scoop of ice cream.

Serves: 6 

  • 1 cup (130g) flour
  • 1/2 cup (110g) sugar
  • 130g butter
  • 1 pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cooking apple, sliced
  • 500g dates, diced
  • 1 cup (250ml) boiling water

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:1hour  ›  Ready in:1hour10min 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a pie dish.
  2. Mix flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, all but 1 tablespoon butter and the salt with the slightly beaten egg and roll out thinly. Cover with sliced apple and dates. Roll up and place in greased pie dish. Mix the remaining sugar and butter with the boiling water and pour over.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
