Crush biscuits roughly then put in a bowl. Melt the margarine, sugar and cocoa together. Add the sherry or rum. Stir in the biscuits then spoon in to a flat tin and smooth down with the back of a spoon.
Refrigerate until firm then cut into slices with a warm knife.
You can add 1 raw egg to make it richer, if you like.
