Tamarillo Sausages

    Sausages simmered in a sweet white wine and tamarillo sauce. This dish is seasoned with onion and garlic. It goes great with mashed potatoes or rice.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 6 sausages
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 2 cloves garlic, diced
    • 3 tamarillos, diced
    • 3/4 cup white wine
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
    • cornflour, to thicken

    1. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan then add the sausages and onion. Cook until sausages are browned then drain off any fat. Return to the frying pan.
    2. Add the garlic, tamarillo, wine, salt, brown sugar and tomato paste. Cover and simmer about 20 minutes until sausage is cooked though and sauce is thickened. (Thicken with cornflour if you need to.)
