This hearty clam chowder is loaded with clams, streaky bacon, potatoes, capsicum, carrot and cream. Enjoy on a cool autumn day or during the winter with crusty bread.


Serves: 6 

  • 4 rashers of streaky bacon, diced
  • 3 spring onions, diced
  • 5 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 tablespoons capsicum, diced
  • 1 stalk celery, sliced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cup raw chopped clams
  • 2 cups cream

  1. Saute the bacon, onions, potatoes, capsicum, celery and carrot together in a frying pan until the veggies being to soften and the bacon becomes crisp. Mash the potatoes slightly.
  2. Transfer to a sauce pan then add the water, salt, pepper, Worcestershire, clams and cream. Cook until thick and clams are cooked though.
