These delicious cream puffs have no sugar added to them, so they are not too sweet. Feel free to doctor them as you please, but these are lovely for us who don't enjoy things too sweet.

The Walters

Makes: 12 cream puffs

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 eggs
  • whipped cream, for serving
  • powdered sugar, for dusting

Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Extra time:20min cooling  ›  Ready in:1hour 

  1. In a saucepan, add the butter and 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a boil. When butter is melted, remove from heat. In a bowl mix the flour and remaining water into a paste. Mix into the butter mixture then beat thoroughly to a thick paste. Allow to get cold then beat in eggs, one at a time.
  2. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a baking tray. Place dough on the baking tray in dessertspoonfuls then bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.
  3. Allow to cool then fill with whipped cream and dust with powdered sugar.
