Cocktail Sausage Puffs

    These yummy sausage rolls have cocktail sausages, cheese and tomato paste rolled up in puff pastry, sprinkled with poppy seeds then baked until golden brown.

    Makes: 30 Rolls

    • 3 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed
    • 1/2 cup tomato paste
    • 1 1/2 cups cheese
    • 1/2 cup mild salsa (optional)
    • 30 cocktail sausages
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

    Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:35min 

    1. Preheat oven to 220 degrees C. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
    2. Roll out pastry then cut into 30 squares. Spread each square with a bit of tomato paste, sprinkle with cheese then add a bit of salsa. Top with a sausage (corner to corner) then roll up.
    3. Brush tops with egg, sprinkle on the poppy seeds then bake in preheated oven for about 15 minutes, until golden brown. (You may have to do this in batches.) Serve with tomato sauce for dipping.

    My husband loves these! He has a sensitive tummy, so I left out the cheese and salsa. I left off the poppy seeds too, so my kids would eat them! Huge hit!  -  22 Aug 2012
