Deep Fried Plantains

    Plantains diced into bite sized pieces, deep fried in olive oil then sprinkled with brown sugar make a mean treat for any time of day.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 4 large plantains (or unripe bananas), peeled
    • 1 cup olive oil
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:5min cooling  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Dice plantains into bite sized pieces.
    2. Heat olive oil in saucepan. Deep fry plantains until deep golden brown. Drain on newspaper.
    3. Sprinkle with brown sugar to serve.
