Grated potatos, mashed potatoes, cheese, onion, flour and milk make up these Irish potato fritters. Great use for leftover mashed potatoes! Serve for any meal.


Serves: 4 

  • 250g raw potatoes, grated
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 250g mashed potatoes
  • 100g self raising flour
  • 1 cup cheese, grated
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • milk
  • oil, for frying

  1. Squeeze liquid out of grated potatoes then add them to a large bowl. Stir in the onion, mashed potatoes, flour and cheese. Season with salt and pepper then slowly add milk to make a stiff batter.
  2. Heat oil in a frying pan then fry spoonfuls of the mixture until golden brown and cooked though, about 5 minutes per side.
