Batter Baked Apples

These peeled whole cored apples are stuffed with raw sugar, topped with sweet batter then baked until golden brown and delicious. Serve with honey and cream.

Ingredients
Serves: 6 

  • 6 red apples, peeled and cored
  • 1/2 cup raw sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 cups milk
  • honey, to taste
  • 2 cups cream

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Stand the apples in a baking dish. Pour sugar in the core holes.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together flour, brown sugar, eggs, salt and milk. Pour over apples then bake in preheated oven for 1 hour.
  3. When done, remove from oven, drizzle with honey then serve with cream.
