    This is a slice, baked on filo pastry with butter, pistachio, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, honey and sprinkled with sunflower seeds then cooled to serve.

    Serves: 8 

    • 4 sheets filo pastry
    • 150g butter
    • 4 cups (600g) pistachio kernels, diced
    • 1 cup (220g) brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
    • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • 1 tablespoon ground cardamom
    • 3/4 cup honey
    • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. Melt two tablespoons of the butter then brush the filo sheets with butter. Lay filo onto a baking tray.
    3. In a bowl, mix together the butter, pistachios, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and honey. Mix until combined then press into the filo dough. Sprinkle top with sunflower seeds.
    4. Bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes. Allow to cool then cut into chunks.
