These deep fried bananas are wrapped in bacon (or not) then dipped in a sweet batter and deep fried. They are surprisingly yummy! Soft inside and crispy outside.
Turn on your deep fryer or fill a wok with oil then bring up to heat. (A match head thrown in the wok will catch fire when oil has reached perfect temp for frying).
Batter
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar and salt. Stir in the egg, milk, oil and vanilla. Beat until smooth. (If too thick, slowly add more milk).
Wrap the whole peeled bananas in the cooked bacon (or don't) then pin on with wooden toothpicks. Dip bananas into the batter then carefully place them in the hot oil.
Fry until golden brown and bananas float to the top, about 7 minutes. Remove toothpicks then serve.
