Focaccia Bread Your Way

    This focaccia bread is delicious toasted and served with soup. You can top it with your favourite cheeses, herbs and diced veggies for a savoury treat.

    Makes: 1 loaf

    • 1 1/4 cup (310ml) warm water
    • 1/3 cup (80ml) olive oil
    • 2 teaspoons caster sugar
    • 7g yeast
    • 3 cups (380g) flour
    • sea salt, to taste

    1. Combine water, oil, sugar and yeast in bowl then let sit until frothy. Mix in flour and pinch of salt using spoon or hands. Kneed until smooth then set aside to rise, about 45 minutes.
    2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Grease a baking tray.
    3. Knead the bread until it forms a ball shape with a dent in the middle. Place on the greased baking tray then top with your favourite toppings or leave plain.
    4. Bake on in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Allow to cool on a cooling rack before serving.
