    This is a glaze that you pour over a loaf of sourdough bread. This mixture of icing sugar, butter, milk and vanilla is poured over a loaf then topped with cinnamon.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 1 loaf

    • 1 large loaf of sourdough bread
    • 2 cups icing sugar
    • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
    • 3/4 cup (190ml) milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 1 1/2 tablespoon cinnamon

    Directions
    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Place bread in the oven on 180 degrees C until warmed through, about 15 minutes.
    2. In a bowl, mix together the icing sugar, butter, milk and vanilla. Remove bread from oven, pour glaze over bread then sprinkle with cinnamon.

    Cook's note

    This makes a lot of glaze and you may have enough to do two loaves, depending on their size.

    Warming

    If you prefer, you can warm loaf in the microwave.
