Spanish Garlic Prawns

This is a very simple tapas recipe which is packed with flavour. It can be easily scaled - just use one head of garlic for every 500g prawns. You can watch this recipe being made in the Allrecipes Spanish Garlic Prawns Video.

Ingredients

Serves: 4 

  • 500g fresh prawns
  • 1 head of garlic
  • dry chillies to taste
  • olive oil (enough to shallow-fry prawns)
  • salt to taste
  • fresh parsley

Directions

  1. Roughly chop the garlic and as many dried chillies as you can handle. Peel the prawns (or buy ready-peeled).
  2. Heat the olive oil and lightly fry the garlic and chilli. Remove garlic and chilli and set aside. In the same oil, fry the prawns until cooked, about 3 minutes.
  3. Return the garlic and chilli to the pan and add salt to taste. Saute for 2 minutes more then serve, garnished with fresh parsley.
