This basic alfredo sauce has onion, bacon, mushrooms, parmesan cheese, cream and parsley all simmered together to make a creamy alfredo pasta sauce. Serve with pasta.

Serves: 2 

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 rashers of bacon, diced
  • 150g mushrooms
  • 150g parmesan
  • 200ml cream
  • 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:20min 

  1. Sauté onion, bacon and mushrooms. Add parmesan, cream and parsley.
  2. Simmer a few minutes until slightly thickened, then add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Serve with fettuccine or your favourite pasta.

My kids are Crazy for this sauce! Usually I don't have cream so I use cream cheese instead, works like a charm! Boil up some pasta, toss in chopped chicken and dinner is Done This time, I added some sautéed red Swiss Chard and spicy Italian turkey sausage.
