Crumbed Tarakihi

    This simple crumbed fish fillet is only seasoned with salt and pepper so it will taste great with your favourite sauce.

    Serves: 4 

    • 4 tarakihi fillets
    • 1 1/2 cups of panko breadcrumbs
    • 1 tablespoons butter
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:8min  ›  Ready in:13min 

    1. Wash the fish fillets then dry. Salt and pepper the fillets then crumb with the panko.
    2. Heat the butter over medium high then add oil (this keeps the butter from burning).
    3. Fry the fillets for 2 minutes a side (or until cooked though).


    Tarakihi is a fish local to New Zealand. If you can not find tarakihi, you can use hoki or any local white fish.
