Spinach with Garlic

    This simple spinach dish is just spinach and garlic sauteed in butter with a bit of garlic salt and lemon juice. Makes a great side to go with any meal.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
    • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
    • 630g fresh spinach
    • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
    • 1/2 lemon, juiced

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:15min 

    1. Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Stir in the garlic; cook and stir until the garlic is fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add the spinach a few handfuls at a time, stirring until wilted before adding more, about 5 minutes. Stir in the lemon juice then season with garlic salt.

    I just made this for dinner this evening. I have been making it for years. I find it easier to use the refrigerated minced garlic because I always keep a jar in the fridge. I just toss some in the skillet and saulte it in the butter and some olive oil then add the spinach.
