Chicken and Silverbeet Lasagne

One of our favorites dish. It is so yummy and easy to do.

Makes: 4 

  • 1 bunch Silverbeet
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 700g chicken mince
  • 1 clove garlic,crushed
  • 425g can tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 8 instant lasagne sheets
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • salt and black pepper,to taste

Preparation:30min  ›  Cook:1hour  ›  Ready in:1hour30min 

  1. Preheat oven 180C
  2. Plunge Silverbeet in the boiling water for 1 minute or until tender.Remove,plunge into bowl of cold water,drain
  3. Heat oil in a fry pan, add garlic,chicken and bacon. Cook over medium heat until well browned.
  4. Stir undrained,crushed tomatoes,tomato paste,tomato sauce and stock,bring to boil.
  5. Reduce heat and simmer unil sauce is slightly thickened,season to taste.
  6. Assemble lasagne : Brush a deep,rectangular ovenproof dish with oil or butter.
  7. Spred 1/3 of chicken mixture over the base dish.
  8. Top with 4 sheets of lasagne.
  9. Spred half of chicken mixture.
  10. Top with all Siverbeets.
  11. Top with 4 sheets of lasagne.
  12. Top the remaining of chicken mixture.
  13. Sprinkle with grated cheese.
  14. Bake for 50 minutes or until cooked through and golden brown.
