- 4 tablespoons Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Golden Syrup
- 1 teaspoon Bicarb Soda

- Grease a tray, You can use butter.
- Put the sugar and golden syrup in a saucepan and bring to a rapid (fast) boil for about 7 minutes.
- Stir constantly to avoid burning the mixture and also stopping it from sticking to the saucepan.
- Take off the heat and add the bicarb soda and stir very quickly.
- Stir just enough to mix the ingredients, then pour the mixture onto the greased tray. DON'T SPREAD OUT THE BAKERS TOAST, AS THIS WOULD POP THE BUBBLES.
- Allow the bakers toast to cool, then break or cut it into pieces.
- Store the bakers toast in an airtight container.

Mine wasn't crumbly at all. I think the sugar mixture would burn maybe the recipe needs to be changed from seven minutes to seven SECONDS. - 26 Jul 2013
