I'm an inexperienced cook and the recipe worked great. However, next time I'd consider putting the sausages on a griddle for a couple of mins before roasting - to get rid of excess fat. In the end I just spooned a couple of tablespoons of fat (which came out of the sausages) from the top of the batter half way through cooking time. I didn't fancy using 4 eggs so I used 3 and used a bit less flour (not sure if experienced cooks would approve, but it worked for me)I used the connected recipe for roast onion gravy and everybody brought clean plates back into the kitchen afterwards. Feeling very smug Thanks for the tip re size of roasting tin. Great recipe.

I am completely inexperienced at cooking and I have cooked this recipe twice. Both times my Toad in the Hole went up like a rocket! Absolutely easy peasy recipie to follow and the final result is ace, every time. Favourited and absolutely recommended.

I have used this recipe a few times now and it comes out perfect everytime. My family love it so we will continue to use it again and again

The Yorkshire pud kept rising and rising!

Used different ingredients. I add a crushed clove of garlic and a pinch of parsley to the batter mix, its yummy.

I decided to make this for my wife as a surprise when she had to work on a Saturday (I haven't cooked her anything for over 20 years...) . Dead simple to make and really tasty years. Thank you :-)

I have joined this group today and this Toad in the hole recipe was my first one from the recipes, it had good reviews and they were not wrong, it's the best I have ever made, deliciously light crispy batter proved very popular with the family. I am looking forward to trying out more recipes from this site

i have made a different recipe for toad in hole before and my family didnt like it but this one they LOVED and said they would like it again. so easy , a simple dinner to feed many
