    The following recipe makes an acceptable, though far from perfect, spelt loaf in the bread machine that I use, the Panasonic SD – 257.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 1 Medium size loaf

    • 1 tsp yeast
    • 150g wholemeal spelt flour
    • 150g white spelt flour
    • 50g oat bran
    • 1.5 tsp bread improver
    • 1.5 tsp iodised sea salt
    • 1.5 tsp sugar
    • 1 Tblsp oil (I use Macadamia oil)
    • 250 ml water

    Directions
    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:4hours  ›  Ready in:4hours5min 

    1. Add the ingredients in the order shown.
    2. Select the Basic White setting, size medium and use the normal unpronged paddle.

    Something else. Add 1/2 teaspoon of licithin granules. These are available at a health food shop and makes the loaf great! Improves texture and loaf rise. - 28 Jan 2011

    Altered ingredient amounts. Increase the yeast to 1.5 tsp and the lecithin to 1 tsp. - 07 Feb 2011
