This is a chicken style chilli that is also sometimes known as white chilli. I sometimes make a few different chillies for a dinner party and this always runs out before the more traditional versions.

Serves: 6 

  • 3 (400g) tins of white beans, e.g. butter beans,
  • 1 litre of chicken stock
  • 750g diced cooked chicken
  • 2 green chillies finely diced
  • 2 onions diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely diced
  • 2 teaspoons cumin
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 pinch of cayenne pepper or chilli powder
  • 500g grated tasty cheese
  • sour cream, to serve
  • coriander, to serve

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:8hours  ›  Ready in:8hours10min 

  1. Add to a slow cooker the beans, chicken, chillies, onions, garlic, cumin, oregano and cayenne pepper; stir.
  2. Put the lid on and cook on a low setting for 8 hours or high setting for 4 hours.
  3. Before serving stir in the cheese until melted. Serve into individual bowls and garnish with the sour cream and coriander.
