Peppery Chocolate Chip Cookies

This chocolate chip cookie recipe has a little twist to it, the white pepper gives a heat to the taste that will carry through.


Makes: 48 cookies

  • 250g butter
  • 1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup (150g) white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 2 1/2 cups (310g) plain flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
  • 3 cups (500g) dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup (120g) chopped walnuts

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:25min 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Grease or line baking trays.
  2. Cream butter and sugars. Beat eggs separately. Add beaten eggs and vanilla to creamed butter and sugar mixture.
  3. Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl and combine with creamed mixture. Add chocolate chips and nuts.
  4. Drop spoonfuls onto the prepared trays. Bake 8 to 10 minutes until done. Allow to cool a few minutes before moving to a wire rack to cool completely.
