Pure White Icing

    This icing recipe will become your best friend. You can use it for all your baking needs, cakes and cupcakes alike.

    Makes: 4 cups icing

    • 1 cup (250ml) milk
    • 1/4 cup (30g) plain flour
    • 100g copha
    • 125g butter
    • 1 cup (200g) white sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

    Preparation:30min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. In a small saucepan, combine the milk and flour. Cook over medium high heat until boiling. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
    2. When the milk mixture is cool, add the copha, butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat with an electric mixer for 10 to 12 minutes, scraping the bottom of the bowl occasionally.

    Last night I needed a quick and easy recipie for frosting, and I found this one. I wish I would have taken a few more moments to search. Anyone who is looking for a good recipie for frosting I urge you to keep looking. I ruined my cake last night. And yes the frosting was beating for 12 mins. If you do use this recipie sub the white surgar for confectioners and add a 1/4 more. half the fatty shorting or just use double butter flavored margarine.
