Turkey Mince Casserole

I like to serve this quick and easy casserole with French bread and a salad. I learned this in primary school.


Serves: 8 

  • 450g turkey mince
  • 1 (400g) tin tomato pasta sauce
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 220g sour cream
  • 220g cream cheese
  • 300g uncooked egg noodles
  • 2 cups grated Cheddar cheese

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. In a large frypan over medium-high heat, saute the turkey mince for 5 to 10 minutes or until browned. Drain the turkey, stir in the tomato sauce and sugar, and set aside. In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream and cream cheese. Mix well and set aside.
  3. Cook noodles according to packet directions. Place them into a baking dish, then layer the turkey mixture over the noodles. Then layer the sour cream mixture over the turkey, and top with cheese.
  4. Bake for 20 to 35 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
