Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Grease a 23cm springform cake tin and sprinkle with dry breadcrumbs.
Stir together the egg and sugar. Melt the butter then stir into mix. Add the flour then mix until smooth, but not fluffy. Spread the batter into the prepared cake tin. Sprinkle slivered almonds on top.
Bake for 25 minutes. Allow the cake to cool slightly before removing from the cake tin. Cool completely on a wire rack.
