Broccoli Tuna

    25 minutes

This is a very quick dinner or lunch that I came up with when all I had was a tin of tuna. It's great!

    Serves: 2

    • 2 cups broccoli florets
    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 tin tuna packed in oil, drained
    • 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce
    • pinch garlic powder

    Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min

    1. Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Cover, and bring the water to a boil over high heat. Add the broccoli and steam until just tender, 2 to 6 minutes depending on the size of the broccoli florets. Remove the broccoli to a serving bowl and toss with butter, add salt and pepper to taste.
    2. Heat the tuna, teriyaki sauce and garlic powder in a frypan over medium heat. Cook and stir until the tuna has heated through, about 5 minutes. Pour the tuna over the broccoli and serve.

I tried this against my better judgment since the thought of tuna and broccoli sounded so weird to me. This was awesome and so quick for a weekday meal. Served with a side of steamed rice and it was perfect!  -  07 Nov 2009  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

I did not have any teriyaki sauce so I used a lil worschester and balsamic. And I baked broccoli and cauliflower and topped with the tuna. Was delicious!  -  04 Jun 2011  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

The teriyaki and tuna just don't mix. Not very good  -  11 Nov 2009  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
