White Bread Peach Cobbler

This peach cobber made with slices of white bread which makes it super quick to make. Use fresh peaches.

Serves: 12 

  • 6 fresh peaches - pitted, skinned, and sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • 125g butter
  • 5 slices white bread

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:1hour 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Butter an 20cm square baking dish.
  2. Cut crust from bread slices, and cut each into 4 or 5 slices. Spread fruit into prepared pan, and cover with a layer of bread slices.
  3. Beat together butter or margarine, sugar, flour and egg. Pour mixture over the fruit and bread.
  4. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
