    Here's a recipe for a basic barbecued prawn marinade that includes Cajun seasoning and lime. Very quick and delicious!

    Ingredients
    Serves: 8 

    • 3 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
    • 1 lime, juiced
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 500g peeled and deveined medium prawns

    Directions
    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:10min 

    1. Mix together the Cajun seasoning, lime juice and vegetable oil in a resealable plastic bag. Add the prawns, coat with the marinade, squeeze out excess air and seal the bag. Marinate in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
    2. Preheat a barbecue for medium heat and lightly oil the grate. Remove the prawns from the marinade and shake off excess. Discard the remaining marinade.
    3. Cook the prawns on the preheated barbecue until they are bright pink on the outside and the meat is no longer transparent in the centre, about 2 minutes per side.

    Ohhh my...this was delicious!! I doubled the amount of shrimp and dressing...but only used 1 1/2tblspns of cajun seasoning total..I thought this had enought kick. I also used olive oil instead of vegetable oil and added the zest of one of the limes for more lime-y flavor. They are excellent! Served with Tangy Cucumber and Avocado Salad from this site.     This was a great recipe for shrimp. I tried it and it was very good. I also tried it on chicken wings with a dab of tequila,and marinated it overnight in the 'fridge and baked them the next day as an appetizer for friends. Now that was awesome!!
