These are small pasta-like dumplings that traditionally go in soup or with a meat dish like goulash.


Serves: 4 

  • 4 cups plain flour
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (190ml) water

Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:3min  ›  Ready in:8min 

  1. In large bowl, combine flour, eggs and salt. Add water a little at a time to form a soft dough.
  2. Boil 2 litres of water in a large pot. Squeeze dough out into the water using spaetzle press or by pressing through a colander with large holes. When dumplings float to the top of the water, they are done (3 to 4 minutes). Serve as a side or main dish.
