Here's a simple and elegant alternative to pizza - using portobella mushroom caps for pizza base. Good party food.

    Serves: 1

    • 1 large portobella mushroom cap
    • 1 tablespoon pasta sauce
    • 50g grated mozzarella cheese
    • 3 black olives, pitted and chopped
    • 2 slices chorizo, chopped
    • 1 clove garlic, chopped

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:40min

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C.
    2. Place the mushroom on a baking tray and bake for 5 minutes in the preheated oven. Remove from the oven and spread pasta sauce in the cup of the cap. Top with cheese, olives, chorizo and garlic.
    3. Bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and golden.

Used different ingredients. Excellent! I marinated my mushroom in a bit of Italian dressing for a little extra flavour, and with a little cheese and tomato sauce, it was wonderful. I'll definitely use this recipe again. - 29 Sep 2008

These were very good but really watery & quite messy. I liked the taste but I don't think I'll make them again just because they were a little hard to eat. - 29 Sep 2008
