Mushroom Macaroni and Cheese

    This is a super simple macaroni and cheese you can make without having to make a white sauce! A good lunch with bread.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 tin condensed cream of mushroom soup
    • 1 1/4 cups (300ml) milk
    • 1/2 cup (60g) grated cheddar cheese
    • 1 1/2 cups macaroni

    Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:1hour5min 

    1. Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Drain.
    2. Mix together condensed soup and cheese. Using the empty soup can, measure 1 can of milk; mix into the soup mixture. Stir in cooked pasta. Pour into a greased casserole dish and cover.
    3. Bake at 170 degrees C for 45 minutes.

    i used cream of chicken soup, instead of mushroom, added half tsp of minced garlic, 1/2 tsp paprika, and used 2 cups of cheese. The recipe turned out very flavourful, and I'll definitely be making it again.  -  26 Dec 2005  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)


    My family absolutely loved this recipe. I added 3 times the cheese as someone else had suggested and also added garlic powder to it, it turned out wonderful. In fact, I am making it again tonight  -  16 Aug 2004  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)


    With a few spice additions this recipe shaped up very well. I added (all to taste) garlic powder, dry mustard, cayenne pepper and tripled the cheddar cheese.I also used evaporated milk instead of the regular kind. Mmmm! great basic recipe  -  03 Mar 2003  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
