Easy Pizza Dough

    This is a quick and easy recipe for pizza dough that comes out perfectly every time for me! Use with any of your favourite toppings.

    Serves: 12 

    • 1 tablespoons dried active baking yeast
    • 1 cup warm water (45 degrees C)
    • 315g bread flour
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 2 teaspoons caster sugar

    1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
    2. In a large bowl, combine bread flour, olive oil, salt, sugar and the yeast mixture; stir well to combine. Beat well until a stiff dough has formed. Cover and let rise until doubled in volume, about 30 minutes.
    3. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
    4. Turn dough out onto a well floured surface, form nto a round and roll out into a pizza base shape. Cover with your favourite sauce and toppings and bake oven until golden brown, about 20 minutes.

    Altered ingredient amounts. This crust turned out great. Like other reviewers noted, I had to add a little bit extra flour (maybe 1/4 cup). Great flavour and texture.  -  29 Sep 2008


    Turned out wonderful! I made one with the bread flour, like the recipie calls for, and one with regular flour, (because I ran out of bread flour)did not come out as good with regular flour.  -  29 Sep 2008


    I used my bread machine for this recipe. The dough came out way too soft. I guess I will need to add more bread flour next time. I did go ahead and add the flour at the end trying to salvage the dough. The dough baked up pretty good and the taste was very delicious! I will definitely try this again with more bread flour.
