These are a great healthy alternative to regular brownies, made with carob, seeds and nuts instead of chocolate.


Serves: 16 

  • 1 cup (80g) rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (50g) carob powder
  • 1/4 cup (35g) toasted sesame seeds, ground
  • 1/4 cup (35g) ground sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) honey
  • 2 cups (240g) chopped walnuts

Preparation:15min  ›  Extra time:2hours chilling  ›  Ready in:2hours15min 

  1. Combine the oats, carob powder, ground sesame seeds, ground sunflower seeds, honey and chopped nuts. Mix well and press into the bottom of one 20cm square dish.
  2. Chill and cut into 5cm squares to serve. These tend to be a little on the crumbly side.
