A tasty entree made from a sliced and toasted baguette that is topped with prosciutto, Parmesan cheese and toasted pine nuts. Makes a great starter to any meal.


Serves: 12 

  • 250g butter, softened
  • 1 cup diced prosciutto
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 bakery baguettes, cut into 1cm slices
  • 1 cup toasted pine nuts

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream the butter. Blend in prosciutto, Parmesan cheese and ground black pepper.
  3. Place baguettes on a medium baking tray. Heat in the preheated oven until lightly toasted, about 10 minutes.
  4. Spread baguette slices with the butter mixture. Arrange on a large serving platter. Sprinkle with pine nuts.
