Pizzelles are thin wafer biscuits made in a special iron called a pizzelle iron. They are beautiful at Christmas.


Serves: 30 

  • 500g margarine
  • 12 eggs
  • 3 cups (660g) white sugar
  • 8 teaspoons baking powder
  • 7 cups (900g) plain flour
  • 4 tablespoons anise essence

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:20min 

  1. Mix ingredients in order given. The consistency should not be too thick.
  2. Heat pizzelle iron. Drop about 1 heaping teaspoon on hot iron, cook for approximately 40 seconds per biscuit.
