This is a traditional Italian recipe for tomato pasta sauce, to which you can add meats or meatballs.


Serves: 96 

  • 2 kg onions
  • 6 green capsicums
  • 1 1/2 cloves garlic
  • 2 (800g) tins whole peeled tomatoes
  • 2 (800g) tins peeled and diced tomatoes
  • 1 (800g) tin tomato puree
  • 1 kg tomato paste
  • 500g tomato pasta sauce
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons Italian herbs

  1. Grind onion, capsicums and garlic in meat grinder or food processor. In a large saucepan combine all ingredients. Bring to boil; reduce heat to simmer for 4 to 5 hours. Stir occasionally.
