Basic Beef Pasta Bake

This is my basic beef pasta bake recipe which can be adjusted with olives, spinach or other vegetables.


Serves: 8 

  • 250g penne
  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 125g mushrooms, drained
  • 800g spaghetti sauce
  • 2 cups grated mozzarella cheese

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:40min  ›  Ready in:55min 

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted boil water to a boil. Cook pasta in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain well.
  2. Meanwhile, cook beef mince and chopped onions in a frypan over medium heat until browned.
  3. In a large bowl, mix together the mushrooms, spaghetti sauce, grated mozzarella cheese, pasta and browned beef mince and onion mixture. Transfer to a greased 20x30cm casserole dish.
  4. Bake at 170 degrees C for 20 minutes, or until very hot.
